Background and History

I was professionally trained in theatre at the PCPA Conservatory in California. Their two-year vocational training program taught a large range of acting, with a focus on musical theater.

While more casually pursuing the theatre world afterwards and working restaurant, retail, and office jobs for a time I earned a BS in Psychology and a Certificate in Accountancy. I then worked in accounting for about 5 years before deciding that I wasn't made to work in an office 5 days a week and really missed the performing world! By this time I acquired some health challenges that didn't allow me to be on my feet for long evenings at the theatre.

Listening to audiobooks has been the main way I've read books in my adult life so I got the idea in my head to narrate audiobooks myself! After all, what theatre-actor doesn't want to play all the parts? I took courses from VO Jumpstart with instructor Don Baarns on how to use the DAW Studio One and the audio editor program iZotope RX, bought recording equipment and started producing audiobooks on ACX.com.

Along the way I upgraded my equipment and home studio, met with commercial and narration VO coach Trish Basanyi for 1-on-1 and group coaching, and 36+ audiobooks later I set out to the short-form VO field to lend my voice to wonderful people like yourself!
